This is a very beautiful plant fossil from an unusual location. It is a Fossil Seed Fern from the Pennsylvanian of West Virginia. This Seed Fern is quite large - the frond is over seven inches long! The individual leaflets are distinct and easily seen. The dark coloration contrasts strikingly with the light brown sandstone matrix. And the detail is very nice. This is one of the most attractive fossil ferns we have ever had (display stand is included for free).
