Here is a very unusual fossil plant. This is an excellent example of the Jurassic cycad, Otozamites feistmantelli. These are not ferns, but much rarer cycad fronds. The fossil plants have beautiful orange color and contrast well with the natural reddish-maroon matrix. The fronds have very fine detail, and the plate displays beautifully. This is a striking example of this collectible Cycadophytes.
