Fossil Seed Fern Plate
Age: Pennsylvanian

Location: Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size: Plate is 16 inches across
This is a large, displayable fossil seed fern plate from the famous location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. There are many fronds preserved on the plate. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of natural yellow-white pyrophyllite on black shale. The fossils have great detail preserved and are beautifully showcased on the large rock, especially the partial full frond present of the left side of the plate. This is a very cool slab of Coal-Age plants from this classic Pennsylvania site.
