This is a nice, large fossil seed fern plate from the famous location near St. Clair, Pennsylvania. There is one nice, large frond and a few smaller ones on the plate. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The ferns are very nice single fronds, not jumbled masses. This is a very nice grouping of Coal-Age plants from this classic site in Pennsylvania.
