Very Large Plate with Large, White Fern Fronds
Stock Number  FPFPA797
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Multiple Fern Plate
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Llewellyn Formation
Location:  Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size:  Plate is 13.3 inches tall!

This is a large, displayable fossil seed fern plate from the famous location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. There is one LONG frond and many others preserved on the plate. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of natural white pyrophyllite, which contrast well with the black shale. The fossils have nice detail preserved and are beautifully showcased on the large (over a FOOT TALL!) slab of shale. This is a very cool slab of Coal-Age plants from this classic site.
