Rare Gymnocladus hesperia Leaf from Utah
Stock Number  FPUAL703
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Gymnocladus hesperia
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 3.1 inches long

This is an extremely uncommon leaf from the Green River Formation. It is a beautiful Gymnocladus hesperia from Utah. This leaf is quite large for the type and exhibits great detail. The slightly crenate margins of the leaf are intact and clearly defined. The acuminate apex of the leaf is well preserved, and the weak venation of this species of plant is even evident. The leaf has nice, natural color and contrast and is wonderfully showcased on the squared plate of shale. This is a very fine example of a rare leaf from the Eocene of Utah.
