This is a beautiful plant fossil. It is a striking plate of fossil fern fronds from Pennsylvania. This fossils on this plate are replaced with the mineral Pyrophyllite, which gives the fossil its stunning white color. The distinct ferns have great detail and contrast beautifully with the black matrix plate. The large fronds are easily seen on the large, unbroken slab. And the back side is almost as displayable as the front! This is a very collectible grouping of displayable fossil plants from the Coal Age of Pennsylvania.
