This is a nice grouping of plants from the classic location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossils are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The detail of the fossils is quite nice and easily seen. The many plants are well displayed on the large, natural plate of shale that also has ferns preserved on the back side. This is a very affordable example of a large plate of fossil plants from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
