This is a very colorful fossil leaf. It is a wonderful Zizyphoides flabellum (Katsura Tree) leaf from the Paleocene of Montana. This specimen has great round shape - the venation and petiole are clearly seen. The leaf has an area that has been bug-eaten, which is extremely rare for this locality. The beautiful leaf is well showcased on the colorful plate of shale. This is a very fine Katsura Tree leaf from an unusual location in Montana.
