EXTINCTIONS CHOICE- Fabulous Four-Lobed Sycamore
Stock Number  FPUPW707
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore Leaf)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 5.15 inches long

This is a very pretty specimen of Macginitiea wyomingensis, a Sycamore leaf, from the Eocene of Utah. It is difficult to obtain Macginitiea leaves that are as distinct as this specimen. This leaf is complete with FOUR, not five, lobes present, which is quite unusual. The venation on this specimen is very strongly pronounced, and the serrated borders are very easily seen. A long, complete petiole is attached to the leaf. The leaf has very good color and contrast and is well showcased on a large, squared block of Green River Shale. This is a very displayable example of a rare Four-Lobed Sycamore leaf.
