This is an unusual, displayable fossil seed fern plate from the famous location near St. Clair, Pennsylvania. There are two different types of fern frond on this plate, both complete to the very tips. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The ferns are very nice single fronds, not jumbled masses. This is a beautiful pair of Coal-Age plants from this classic site in Pennsylvania.
