Very Nice Seed Fern Frond Plate from Pennsylvania
Stock Number  FPFPAX24
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Seed Fern Frond Plate
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Llewellyn Formation
Location:  Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size:  Plate is 10.5 inches long

This is a very detailed plant fossil. It is a striking plate of fossil fern fronds from Pennsylvania. This distinct specimen is naturally replaced with the mineral Pyrophyllite, which gives the fossil its nice, white color. There are many large fronds preserved on the plate. The seed fern fronds have great detail and contrast well with the natural, black matrix slab. This is a very collectible grouping of fossil fern fronds from the Coal Age.
