Size:  Plate is 9.5 inches across

This is a large, displayable fossil seed fern plate from the famous location near St. Clair, Pennsylvania. There is one large frond and MANY other fronds on the plate. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. There are also Sphenophyllum and other fossil plants preserved on the plate. This is a very nice grouping of Coal-Age plants from this classic site in Pennsylvania.
