This is a wonderful fossil plant from the now-closed location near St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossil fern frond is preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The detail of this fossil is very nice, and the frond is quite large - almost six inches long! This is a very affordable example of a large fossil fern frond from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
