EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Very Cool Sycamore Leaf
Stock Number  FPFPW702
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore Leaf)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 5.6" long, 5.1" across!

This is a very nice fossil leaf. It is a beautiful Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore) leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. This very large leaf is wonderfully complete - all five lobes of the leaf are present and beautifully displayed. The entire, slightly-serrated margins of the leaf are easily seen, and the venation is clearly defined. An extremely long, complete petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The natural, dark-brown color of the leaf contrasts strikingly with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossil is well displayed on the large, squared plate of shale. This is an extremely fine specimen of a fabulous Sycamore leaf from the Eocene.
