Here is an excellent specimen of a Chamaecyparis sp. (White Cedar) branch from the Eocene of British Columbia. It is very unusual to find such a complete branch. This cool cedar sprig exhibits fine detail. Under magnification, the individual scale-like leaves are easily seen. This fossil plant has wonderful natural color and contrast. The branch is nicely showcased on the plate of shale that also contains a few long pine needles. This is a great example of fossilized Cedar foliage.
