Here is a very uncommon specimen of an Asterotheca candolleana Frond from the famous Tonganoxie Sandstone of Kansas. This specimen was recently acquired from an old collection. The fossil was collected in the 1970s - we have heard that this site has been closed to collecting for a number of years. The specimen has very good color and contrast. The Asterotheca frond displays very fine detail. This is a very collectible specimen of an Asterotheca candolleana Frond from a classic location.
