This is a very detailed plant fossil. It is a large plate of striking fossil fern fronds from Pennsylvania. This the ferns on this specimen are replaced with the mineral Pyrophyllite, which gives the fossils their stunning white color. The LONG fern fronds have great color and detail preserved and contrast beautifully with the black matrix plate. And there are even a few ferns on the back side of the plate. This is a very displayable grouping of fossil fern fronds preserved on a plate that is over a foot long.
