Here is an excellent specimen of Populus cinnamomoides. This distinct leaf is from the Eocene of Utah. This lance-shaped leaf exhibits very fine detail. The extremely dentate margins are easily seen, and the venation of the leaf is beautifully defined. The long petiole is still attached to the leaf. The fossil has outstanding color and contrast and is very well showcased on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a fabulously detailed specimen of Populus cinnamomoides from the Green River Formation.
