Fossil Seed Fern Fronds

This is a very nice grouping of plants from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossils are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. There are three very nice fern fronds on the plate. The detail of the fossils is quite nice. The plants are nicely displayed on the natural plate of shale. This is a very affordable example of fossil plants from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
