This is a spectacular Pararaucaria cone from Patagonia, Argentina. This fabulous cone has been replaced by silica and still retains its natural shape. The distinct fossil has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. The cone exhibits very fine detail - the individual cone scales are extremely well defined. The small stem is also easily seen, which is extremely unusual. And the back side is as nice as the front! This is a top quality example of a Pararaucaria cone from the wilds of Argentina.
Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
