This is a very displayable fossil seed fern plate from the famous location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. There is a large branching frond and many other fronds on the plate. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The large branch of fronds is quite interesting. This is a very displayable example of Coal-Age plants from this classic site.
