This is an excellent Fossil Cone from the Sahara Desert of Morocco. This Eocene cone has been replaced by silica and is quite distinct. The fossil has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. The cone is preserved in a very 3-dimensional manner and exhibits very fine detail - the individual cone seeds are very well defined. This is a wonderful example of this new find from Morocco.
