Nice Plate of Fraxinus (Ash) Leaves from Utah
Stock Number  FPU321
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Fraxinus (Ash) Leaves
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Plate is 5.3 inches tall

Here is an unusual plate of fossil leaves. These are Fraxinus sp. (Ash) from the Green River Formation. Ash leaves are very uncommon from this stratigraphic unit. There are two leaves on the plate and both are still unusually attached to the main branch. These elliptical leaves are decently large, and the primary venation is clearly defined. The natural, brown color of the fossil plant contrasts extremely well with the light-colored matrix. The leaves are well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very aesthetic specimen of unusual Ash leaves from the Eocene of Utah.
