EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Allophylus flexifolia Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is over 5 inches long

This is a phenominal fossil leaf. It is a large Allophylus leaf from Utah. This specimen is quite impressive - over FIVE INCHES LONG! The leaf has great color and detail. The venation of the leaf is easily seen, and the short petiole (stem) is present. The leaf is beautifully showcased on the large, squared matrix block that also contains a rare Caesalpinites falcata leaf. And just to give it some character, the edge of the leaf has been extremely bug-eaten! This is an extremely collectible fossil leaf from the Eocene.
