This is a classic plant fossil. It is a fossil Fern Frond from the famous Mazon Creek locality of Illinois. This fern is preserved in a concretionary matrix, giving it excellent color and detail. The fern is wonderfully showcased in the center of the nodule. And both halves of the split pair concretion are present. This is a very collectible plant fossil from the Mazon Creek flora.
