Size:  Concretion is 3 inches long

This is a very fine specimen of Macroneuropteris scheuchezri from the famous strip mines of northern Illinois. The large, single seed fern is preserved in a siderite concretion, and both halves of the concretion are present. The leaf has beautiful, natural coloration preserved. The fossil also exhibits very fine venation, easily seen under magnification. This is a vert nice specimen of Macroneuropteris scheuchezri from the Coal Age.
