Fine Hackberry Leaf with Outstanding Venation
Stock Number  FPUHA302
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Celtis mccoshii (Hackberry Leaf)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 1.8" including petiole

Here is a fantastic specimen of Celtis mccoshii, a Hackberry leaf, from the Green River Formation. This lance-shaped leaf exhibits wonderful detail. The serrated margins of the leaf are quite distinct, and a long, thin petiole is still tightly attached to the leaf. The venation of the leaf is outstanding - even the tertiary venation is beautifully displayed. The fossil has excellent, natural color and contrast and is very well showcased on the natural block of matrix. This is a very fine example of a fossil Hackbery leaf from the Eocene of Utah.
