Two Fossil Seed Fern Fronds from Pennsylvania
Stock Number  FPFPA82
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Fossil Seed Fern Fronds
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Llewellyn Formation
Location:  Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size:  Plate is 6.5 inches tall

This is a very nice grouping of plants from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossils are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. There are two very nice fern fronds on the plate. The detail of the fossils is quite nice. The plants are nicely displayed on the natural plate of shale. There are also some ferns fossilized on the back side of the plate. This is a very fine example of fossil plants from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
