Here is a beautiful, but strange, fossil leaf from the Eocene! This unidentified specimen is from the Green River Formation of Utah. This lobed leaf has great detail - the venation of the leaf is easily seen with the naked eye. The fossil leaf has excellent color and contrast. and is well showcased on the rectangular plate of shale that also contains a nice Rhus nigricans (Sumac) Leaf. This is a collectible example of an unusual fossil leaf with remarkable preservation.
