Here is a very nice specimen of a fossil Calamites Trunk from the famous Tonganoxie Sandstone of Kansas. The specimen has very good color and contrast. The fossil displays very fine detail. This specimen was recently acquired from an old collection - the specimen was collected in the 1970s. This site has been closed to collecting for a number of years. This is a very detailed Horsetail specimen of Calamites from the Pennsylvanian of Kansas.
