Name:
Aleurites glandulosa Leaf
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Leaf is 6.1 inches long!
Here is a distinct fossil leaf. This is a huge specimen of Aleurites glandulosa from the Green River Formation of Utah. This distinctly tri-lobed leaf is complete with slightly undulating margins - even the very tips of the lobes are intact. A long, straight petiole is still tightly attached, and the venation of the leaf is clearly defined. Under magnification, even the tertiary venation is easily seen. The leaf has very good color and contrast and is wonderfully centered on the large, rectangular plate. This is an extremely collectible example of this highly uncommon leaf from the Eocene.
