Here is a beautiful Lagokarpos lacustris from the Eocene of Utah. This airborne fruiting body is very dark in color and exhibits excellent venation of the "wings". One can almost imagine this fruit "helicoptoring" down in front of them. The fossil is well centered on the large natural plate of matrix. This is one of the finest examples of a winged fruit that we have ever seen.
