Allophylus flexifolia Leaf

Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Leaf is 5.1 inches long
This is a phenominal fossil leaf. It is a large Allophylus leaf from Utah. This specimen is quite impressive - over FIVE INCHES LONG! The leaf has great color and detail. The venation of the leaf is easily seen. The petiole (stem) is long and complete down to the the branch attachment point. The leaf is beautifully showcased on the large, natural-edged matrix block. And just to give it some character, the leaf is torn - it was possibly ripped by the pressure of fossilization! This is an extremely collectible fossil leaf from the Eocene.
