Name:
Grouping of Fossil Leaves
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Plate is 6.1 inches tall
This is a very rare fossil leaf plate. It is a slab of many different leaves from the Green River Formation of Utah. On the left of the plate is a complete Aleurites glandulosa leaf. The venation of the leaf is very clearly defined, and the overall shape is nicely intact. There is also a distinct Rhus nigricans (Sumac) leaf on the plate. There are also many other leaves on the plate. The leaves have excellent color and contrast and are well showcased on the squared plate of shale. This is a very unique association of fossil plants from the Green River of Utah.
