This is a wonderful plant fossil. It is a rare type of fossil Fern from Johnson County, Missouri. This specimen is quite large and well preserved. The striking dark brown coloration is fully natural, and the minute detail is exquisite. The fern frond is beautifully showcased in the large, oval concretion. This is a very nice example of this raret plant fossil from this Mazon Creek-like locality.
