This is a gorgeous example of a RARE fruiting body from the Paleocene of Montana. This Sparganium antiquum ''Bur Reed Fruit'' exhibits outstanding detail and has extraordinary, natural coloration. The orange-brown fruit contrasts beautifully with the greyish-green matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the squared plate of shale. This is a beautiful specimen of this very unusual fruiting body from the Paleocene.
