Stock Number  FPUMU25
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore Leaf), Others
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Plate is about 9 inches tall

Here is a very unusual plate of fossil leaves from the Green River Formation of Utah. There are three very different leaves on the plate. The multi-lobed leaf an the top of the plate is Macginitiea wyomingensis, a Sycamore Leaf. This leaf has all five lobes preserved and well-displayed. This distinct leaf still has the long petiole attached and exhibits fine detail. The two leaves at the bottom-right of the plate are Populus wilmattae (Poplar Leaf) and Lygodium kaulfussii (Climbing Fern Leaf). The fossils have great color and contrast and are nicely showcased on the very large plate of shale. This is a very collectible plate of fossil leaves from Utah.
