Allophylus flexifolia Leaf
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Leaf is almost 7 inches long!
This is a fabulous fossil leaf. It is a HUGE Allophylus leaf from Utah. This specimen is extremely large - almost SEVEN INCHES LONG! The leaf has great color and detail. The venation of the leaf is easily seen. The petiole (stem) is present, and the very tip of the leaf is complete and slightly curled. The leaf is beautifully centered on the large, rectangular matrix block. And just to give it some character, the leaf is slightly bug-eaten in spots and shows some disease spots! This is one of the largest leaves we've seen from the Green River Formation of Utah. It is an extremely collectible fossil leaf.
