Very Nice Legume Leaf Centered on Plate
Stock Number  FPULE301
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Leguminosites lesquereuxi Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 2.35 inches long

This is a very distinct specimen of Leguminosites lesquereuxiana from the Green River Formation of Utah. This type of leaf has slightly undulated margins with very weak venation. This species is unusual in that the leaf has a rounded apex - this specimen displays this feature beautifully. A very short petiole is still attached to the leaf. The dark brown leaf contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a fine specimen of a fossil legume leaf from Utah.
