Nicely Serrated Zelcova Leaf with Great Color
Stock Number  FPCOL46
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Zelcova nervosa Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Douglas Pass, Colorado
Size:  Leaf is 2.35 inches long

Here is a very pretty fossil leaf. This is Zelcova nervosa (Keaki Tree) from the Green River Formation of Colorado. This lance-shaped leaf has the slightly serrated margins wonderfully displayed, the venation of the leaf is quite evident, and the stout petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The fossil plant has great color and contrast and is well displayed on the natural-edged plate of shale. This is a fine specimen of a fossil leaf from the Keaki Tree.
