Fossil Fern Frond
Age: Pennsylvanian

Location: Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size: Frond is 5 inches long
This is a fabulous fossil plant from the now-closed location near St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossil is preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The detail of this fossil is quite nice, and the plant is nicely displayed on the large plate of shale. This is a very fine example of a fossil fern frond from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
