Nice Branch with Two Willow Leaves Attached
Stock Number  FPUSA19

Name:   Salix cockerelli (Willow Leaves)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Plate is 3.7 inches tall

This is a very unusual plant fossil. It is a Willow branch (Salix cockerelli) from the Green River Formation of Utah. It is very uncommon to find fossil leaves still attached to the main branch. This specimen has two nice leaves preserved. The leaves have very good detail and great color and contrast. The branch is well showcased on the plate of shale that also contains other leaves. This is an excellent example of a branch with two willow leaves articulated.
