Fossil Seed Fern Fronds
Age: Pennsylvanian

Location: Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania
Size: Plate is 9 inches across
This is a fabulous plate of plant fossils from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The fossils are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. The detail of the fossils is quite nice, and the plants are nicely showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very fine display example of a plate of fossil fern fronds from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.
