Rare Association - Lonchopteris and Sphenophillum
Stock Number  FPFPO307
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Lonchopteris and Sphenophillum
Age:  Pennsylvanian
Formation:  Westphalian
Location:  Upper Silesia, Poland
Size:  Plate is about 4 inches tall

Here is a very nice plate of Coal Age plants. These distinct plants are from the Pennsylvanian of Poland. There are very nice Lonchopteris seed ferns on the slab. The fronds exhibit excellent detail. The thick stems are easily seen, and the individual leaves are clearly defined. There is also a rare Sphenophillum preserved between the two fern fronds. The fossil plants have a distinct, dark coloration and contrast wonderfully with the grey shale. This is a very displayable association specimen of these classic fossil plants from Poland.
