This is a wonderful fossil cone. It is a very fine example of Araucaria sp. from the Jurassic of Argentina. This specimen was recently acquired from a major fossil collection. This fossil cone is quite large and totally inflated. The colorful cone exhibits exquisite detail. The stem attachment point is easily seen, and the individual cone scales are very distinct and beautifully displayed. This is a very nice Araucaria cone from Argentina.
Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was legally collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
