Very Unusual Split Pair of Allophylus Leaves
Stock Number  Z918093
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Allophylus flexifolia Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 2 inches long

This is an excellent fossil leaf. It is a beautiful Allophylus flexifolia Leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. This leaf is amazingly complete - all of the features of the leaf are present and wonderfully displayed. The serrated margins of the leaf are easily seen, and the venation is clearly defined. A distinct petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The natural, dark-brown color of the leaf contrasts strikingly with the lighter-colored matrix. And, best of all, this is a split pair fossil - both part and counterpart of the leaf are present, and both halves are included here! This is a very uncommon split pair Allophylus leaf from Utah.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
