This is an extremely scarce Eocene leaf. It is a large Aristolochia mortua Leaf from Utah. This type has a long, heart-like shape and a short petiole - this specimen showcases these features beautifully. The venation is preserved, and the dark, natural color is quite striking. The leaf is wonderfully showxased on the semi-rectangular matrix plate along with a horsetail rush. This is a very collectible example of this rare Green River leaf - the only example of this type we have ever had.
