Name:
Allophylus flexifolia Leaves
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Larger leaf is 4.6 inches long!
This is a very nice pair of fossil leaves. These are both Allophylus flexifolia leaves from the Green River Formation of Colorado. These leaves have the slightly serrated margins intact, and the primary venation is easily seen. The very tiny tip of the larger leaf is present, and the petioles are still tightly attached to the base of both leaves. The dark brown fossils contrast wonderfully with the khaki-colored matrix. The leaves are well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a fine double example of Allophylus from Douglas Pass, Colorado.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
