Name:
Symphoricarpos (Snowberry Leaf)
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Plate is 7.1 inches across
This is a very rare Eocene leaf plate. It is Symphoricarpos (Snowberry Leaf) and others from the Green River Formation of Utah. This round leaf (bottom left) has extremely fine detail preserved. The venation of the leaf is very clearly defined, the overall shape is nicely intact, and the short, curved petiole is even preserved (rare). There is also an uncommon Leguminosites regularis leaf (right) and a complete Allophylus flexifolia leaf (top left) on the plate. The leaves have excellent color and contrast and are well displayed on the squared plate of shale. This is a very unique association of this unusual Symphoricarpos leaf and others from Utah.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
